Growth isn’t about throwing things at the wall and hoping something sticks. It’s about cutting through the noise and figuring out what really moves the needle.
Our 2025 priority is commercial traffic—the kind of traffic that’s actually looking for services like mine.
Not vanity metrics.
Not fluff.
Just the real stuff that turns into clients.
What Is Commercial Traffic?
Commercial traffic is when someone searches for exactly what you offer.
They’re not looking to browse or learn. They’re looking to purchase something. Think queries like:
- “SEO agency for SaaS”
- “SEO for marketplaces”
- “best PPC agency for startups”
These people are ready to pay someone. If my content isn’t designed to target and rank for these kinds of searches, then what’s the point?
I could pump out as much content as I want, but if it doesn’t attract these people, it’s just busy work.
Social Media: Overrated but Still Useful
Social media gets way too much credit.
Sure, it can help keep me visible, and I’ve landed a couple of clients from it, but it’s not the big driver of growth people think it is.
Here’s the hard truth: it’s not consistent. It’s also super competitive.
Most of the people who see my posts aren’t ready to buy anything.
They’re just scrolling. Social media is a tool, not a foundation.
It supports the business, but it’s not going to carry it.
The Kind of Content That Works
If I want to grow long-term, the focus has to shift to creating content that converts. Here’s what that looks like (I think).
- High-Intent Content
- Supportive Content
- Paid Traffic
I’m talking about long-form articles for keywords like “best SEO agency for SaaS” or “how to choose an SEO agency.” This is what people actively looking for services are searching for. If I’m not ranking for this stuff, I’m missing out.
Things like glossaries or SEO job descriptions don’t directly bring in clients, but they help build topical authority. That authority helps my commercial pages rank faster.
PPC is the shortcut here—targeting the same commercial keywords but getting in front of people right now while organic rankings take their time.
Rethinking Priorities
I spend too much time on things that don’t matter.
Social media posts, random tasks, perfectionism—it’s all a distraction from what actually matters. I need to:
- Delegate: My time is worth more than the cost of outsourcing. If it doesn’t need me, someone else can handle it.
- Stop Overthinking: If it doesn’t drive commercial traffic, it’s probably not worth doing.
- Build Systems: When I find something that works, I need to turn it into a repeatable process.
Social Media Isn’t Everything
I’m not saying social media is useless—it’s not.
It’s great for staying visible, building a bit of credibility, and maybe bringing in the occasional client.
But it’s not consistent, and it’s not the big driver of growth.
The real work happens with content and strategies that target people ready to hire me. Everything else is just noise.
What’s Next
Over the next few months, I need to keep things simple:
- Focus on Content for High-Intent Keywords
- Delegate the Busy Work
- Use Free Tools Strategically
If I’m not targeting commercial queries, I’m wasting my time.
I’ve got to protect my time and focus on the big stuff. Delegating might cost more upfront, but my time is worth it.
Tools and supporting content only matter if they help my commercial pages rank faster. That’s their job—nothing else.
Final Thought
Growth is messy, but it doesn’t have to be complicated.
At the end of the day, everything I do should tie back to increasing commercial traffic. Anything that doesn’t? It’s just noise.
So, the game plan is simple: build authority, focus on what works, and cut the fluff. Everything else can wait.
